Curator’s Note
Eva Berler's gaze has approached the seemingly invisible, has metaphorically touched those simple details that exist around us at every moment. Three photographic sections, three books, one exhibition. But one and only Gaze at reality, which connects all the creative elements with each other.
In an era where we are increasingly moving away from the handmade and turning towards the digital, Eva Berler chooses to return from the digital to the handmade. It is a very interesting, and at the same time fascinating process, not only photographic but also creative, and on a deeper level, particularly philosophical. Those of us who have the fortunate (or unfortunate?) privilege of having experienced the analog and digital eras of humanity, but also the - often awkward - transition from one state to the other, can perceive this very interesting internal transformation.
Our gaze in this exhibition sometimes moves away and sometimes comes closer. But perhaps the greatest meaning is found here in the focus on the subtle, on that hidden divine, the poetic that exists around us daily - usually unnoticed. In the spaces around us, there is ultimately the gaze of the photographer, the gaze of the viewer, and the gaze of the images themselves...
